Job summary

Quarterback Transportation is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team in Canada. You will negotiate, dispatch and assign carriers to shipments, manage carrier relationships, and support our fast-paced operations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of freight brokerage/dispatching experience
• Past experience in a fast-paced sales environment is an asset
• Must be a team player and provide leadership
• Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette
• Effective listening and strong communication skills for interaction with drivers, customers, and staff
• Experience using Load boards, e.g. LoadLink
• Knowledge of multi-state geography
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and problem solve
• Exceptional negotiation skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced, detail oriented environment
• Experience using Windows applications and industry specific software

Responsibilities

• Negotiate, dispatch and assign carriers to customers' shipments to support the company
• Manage carrier portfolio, develop relationships, match carrier lanes with freight
• Continually source new carriers for portfolio and build relationships
• Proactively communicate shipment details to/from motor carriers and internal team
• Collaborate with senior management to define strategic direction and objectives
• Work daily with Carriers, Freight Forwarders, and colleagues

You are the perfect fit if you have experience doing the following:

• Negotiate, dispatch and assign carriers to customers' shipments to support the company
• Manage carrier portfolio, including developing strong relationships and operational understandings, helping match carrier preferred lanes with freight, and work with carriers as determined by the company
• Continually source new carriers for portfolio, developing the same relationships and understandings
• Proactively communicate pertinent shipment details to/from motor carriers, and our internal team
• Work closely with senior management to define strategic direction and objections
• Collaborate with Carrier's, Freight Forwarders, and fellow colleagues on a daily basis

Desired Skills and Experience:
