What We’re Looking For

This full-time role has been created due to expanding operations in Port Alberni, B.C. We seek a diligent candidate with strong attention to detail. The Logistics Coordinator will manage and optimize supply chain logistics, focusing on cross-border US/Canada coordination, documentation, tariffs, and network management of logistics suppliers, especially for remote locations and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) scenarios in the aerial firefighting industry.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Facilitate smooth movement of goods across the US-Canada border, ensuring customs compliance, managing documentation, and resolving delays to maintain supply chain integrity.
  2. Prepare and review shipping documents such as bills of lading, customs declarations, and tariffs, ensuring compliance with trade regulations and cost optimization.
  3. Collaborate with Customs Brokers to ensure accuracy and communicate changes.
  4. Maintain relationships with logistics providers, carriers, and suppliers, especially for urgent or remote shipments.
  5. Develop contingency plans for urgent shipments, including AOG scenarios, to minimize downtime.
  6. Stay updated on tariffs, trade agreements, and customs procedures for compliance and cost efficiency.
  7. Monitor and track inbound and outbound shipments across various locations and update systems accordingly.
  8. Coordinate with departments to ensure smooth information flow regarding shipments.
  9. Support logistics and operations projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  10. Handle aircraft equipment packaging to meet standards.
  11. Ensure compliance with Coulson Group procedures and standards.
  12. Participate in on-call AOG duties and manage related transactions as needed.

Requirements

  1. High School Diploma required.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain.
  3. 3-5 years of import/export experience.
  4. Experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  6. Excellent computer skills and accurate data entry.
  7. Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize urgent shipments, and manage remote logistics challenges.
  8. Good analytical and decision-making skills.
  9. Attention to detail.
  10. Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
