What We’re Looking For

This full-time position has been created due to the rapidly expanding operations in Port Alberni, B.C. We seek a hardworking candidate with a very strong attention to detail. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing and optimizing supply chain logistics operations with a focus on cross-border US/Canada coordination, documentation, tariffs, and network management of key logistics suppliers, including prioritization for remote locations and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) in the Aerial Firefighting industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Facilitate seamless movement of goods across the US-Canada border, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, managing border crossing documentation, and addressing potential delays or issues to maintain supply chain integrity.
2. Prepare and review shipping documents such as bills of lading, customs declarations, and tariffs, ensuring adherence to international trade regulations and optimizing costs.
3. Work closely with Customs Brokers to assure that the information is accurate and that any changes are communicated accordingly.
4. Maintain relationships with a network of logistics providers, carriers, and suppliers, including those specializing in urgent or priority shipments, especially to remote or hard-to-reach locations.
5. Develop and execute contingency plans for urgent shipments, including AOG scenarios, ensuring rapid response and resource allocation to minimize downtime.
6. Stay updated on tariffs, trade agreements, and customs procedures to ensure compliance and cost efficiency.
7. Monitor and manage tracking of inbound and outbound shipments to various warehouse locations, vendors/suppliers, customers, and update the system accordingly.
8. Continuously follow up and update all requestors/departments with inbound and outbound shipments.
9. Work with various departments to ensure steady flow of information throughout our supply chain.
10. Provide support for Logistics/Operations projects as assigned and any ad hoc or other duties as required by the Supply Chain department.
11. Package and handle aircraft equipment to the regulated standards.
12. Ensure Coulson Group of Companies procedures and standards are being met.
13. This role will partake in the on-call AOG phone duties and manage all AOG transactions on an ad hoc basis.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma required.
2. 3-5 years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain.
3. 3-5 years of import and export experience.
4. Experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP system.
6. Excellent computer skill set and accurate keying capability.
7. Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize urgent shipments and manage remote logistics challenges effectively.
8. Good analytical and critical decision-making skills.
9. Detail oriented.
10. Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
