Qualifications

Job description

Domestic Logistics Coordinator (DLC) - High Liner Foods

The Domestic Logistics Coordinator (DLC) is a key operations role within High Liner Foods, focused exclusively on North American transportation. The DLC manages and makes tactical decisions within the supply chain to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation execution.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide comprehensive logistics services to optimize service and costs, including:
  2. Build and plan customer loads
  3. Select and tender loads to carriers while adhering to routing guide compliance
  4. Prioritize appointment scheduling requirements
  5. Understand customer compliance requirements and communicate necessary information to carriers to avoid fines/fees
  6. Successfully plan multi-stop loads and optimize truck utilization
  7. Adhere to freight budgets
  8. Track load execution against relevant milestones
  9. Obtain status updates or documents from carriers
  10. Identify risks to successful execution and recommend solutions
  11. Inform relevant stakeholders of status updates
  12. Review and decide on next steps for freight payment discrepancies or accessorial fees
  13. Utilize, maintain, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  14. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend improvements
  15. Evaluate decisions impacting freight costs for High Liner Foods
  16. Develop and maintain successful relationships with carriers/brokers
  17. Participate in on-call support rotation or holiday coverage as required
  18. Perform other tasks and activities as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with supply chain software (e.g., BluJay, E2 Open TMS, JD) is an asset
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional carrier-facing experience is highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without hierarchical authority
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and competency in presenting recommendations
  • Transportation management experience (TL, LTL, and/or I)
