Job summary

VON Canada is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Visiting Nursing team in Queens County. Work with autonomy, deliver holistic person-centred care in clients' homes, clinics, or virtually, and collaborate with other health professionals.

This casual, on-call role offers full scope practice, ongoing development, a comprehensive orientation, and the chance to support children, adults, and seniors in their communities.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the province of practice.
• Community health experience is an asset.
• Must enjoy driving, have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• A current and original copy of a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check required.
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Client assessments.
• Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
• Medication administration.
• Wound care.
• Chronic Disease Management, e.g. diabetes care and education.
• Specimen collection.
• Rehabilitative programs.
• Palliative Care.
• And many other critical nursing skills.
