Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking a Licensed Automotive Technician to join our fast-paced service team. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles, explain procedures to customers, and maintain high safety standards.

You should have a valid mechanic's licence and provincial driver's licence, be able to work flexible shifts, and stay current with automotive technology. Experience at a Canadian Tire Auto Service Centre is an asset.

Qualifications

• Valid mechanic’s licence and provincial driver’s licence.
• Ability to stand/walk 8 hours and lift/carry items.
• Ability to work shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to communicate clearly and give precise instructions.
• Experience in a similar role at a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is an asset.
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, explain procedures and repairs, and thank them.
• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, estimates and repairs.
• Complete and review repair orders and vehicle inspection reports with Service Advisors.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Installer and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports.
• Report unsafe vehicles to management and owner.
• Remain current with operation, maintenance and repair knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist in explaining procedures and repairs and any additional required maintenance work, and thank customers in a friendly manner.
• Perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections, diagnostics, estimates and repairs.
• Complete and review repair orders and vehicle inspection reports with Service Advisors.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Installer and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Remain current with up-to-date knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of most vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid mechanic’s licence and driver’s licence for province of employment.
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
