Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores in Canada is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to perform oil and lube service, tire installation, rotation and balancing, and light vehicle maintenance.

The role offers a fast-paced environment with opportunities for ongoing training and a supportive team as part of a family and diverse workplace.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours with occasional lifting.
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Approachable with good interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is an asset.
• Knowledge of COSTAR is an asset.
• Knowledge of current automobile technology.
• Ability to work with computerized systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs as requested (oil, lube, tire installation, rotation, balancing).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Advisors/Technicians.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to Service Advisors.
• Ensure unsafe vehicles are reported to management and owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisors.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver”s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
• Ability to work effectively with computerized systems

• Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre (asset)
