Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to join our fast-paced automotive service centre. The role covers oil and lube service, tire installation, rotation and balancing, and light vehicle maintenance.

You will work with the Service Manager and licensed technicians to provide accurate estimates and vehicle reports, ensuring safety standards and customer service in a family-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Experience in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is an asset.
• Knowledge of current automobile technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and tire service as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / rotate and balance tires).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (if applicable).
• Perform RIV inspections (where required).
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Technicians and Back Parts staff.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure unsafe vehicles are reported to management and owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
• Ability to work effectively with computerized systems
• Results-oriented
• Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre (asset)
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR (asset)
