Job summary

Canadian Tire is recruiting an Automotive Service Installer for an iconic Canadian retailer. The role involves oil and lube service, tire installation, rotation, balancing, and light vehicle maintenance in a fast-paced automotive service centre.

You will perform basic maintenance, generate estimates, and communicate with service staff while adhering to health and safety standards. Industrial and community engagement are highlighted in the job description.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours with lifting and carrying items.
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, weekends and holidays).
• Knowledge of current automobile technology; ability to work with computerized systems.
• Experience in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is asset.
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR is asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles (lube, oil and filter changes; remove, install, rotate and balance tires).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (where applicable).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Advisors/Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure unsafe vehicles are reported to management and owners.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
