Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to work in a fast-paced Service Centre. You will perform oil changes, tire installation, rotation and balancing, and light maintenance while following factory specs and safety rules.

The role requires physical stamina, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work days and weekends. You will document findings, communicate with the Service Manager and Advisors, and provide clear estimates and reports.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing and lifting.
• Knowledge of current automobile technology and ability to inspect vehicle components.
• Experience in a similar role is an asset.
• Registered with Skilled Trades BC and completion of L1 Training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine customer vehicle maintenance and repairs (lube, oil and filter changes; tire installation, rotation and balancing).
• Inspect brakes, suspension, steering, exhaust and other components and document findings.
• Follow manufacturer specifications, shop procedures and safety requirements.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Keep work area clean and compliant with Health and Safety regulations.

Wage:

Competitive wage based on experience, current apprenticeship level and demonstrated skills, with opportunities for wage increases as skills and responsibilities progress.

Responsibilities:

• Perform customer vehicle routine maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections ).
• Inspect brakes, suspension, steering, exhaust and other vehicle components and accurately document findings.
• Follow manufacturer specifications, shop procedures and safety requirements.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Maintain a clean & organized work area and ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver's license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days & week-ends)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
