Job description

We are a personal injury law firm seeking a Legal Assistant to become a part of our team! You will provide overall clerical support to our lawyers and paralegal.

Responsibilities :

1. Assist in managing client files from open to close;
2. Verbal and written communication with clients, counsel, clinics, courts, etc., on a daily basis to provide information, answer questions, schedule meetings, etc.;
3. Name and file various documents in Clio on a daily basis;
4. Draft, request, and provide client productions to all parties regularly (adjusters / counsel);
5. Manage and maintain multiple calendars;
6. Maintain and update electronic filing system; and
7. Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications and Preferred Skills :

1. 1+ years experience working as a legal assistant (plaintiff personal injury experience considered an asset);
2. Law Clerk and/or Legal Assistant Diploma;
3. Familiarity with legal case management software and e-filing systems;
4. Ability to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
5. Highly organized with excellent time management skills;
6. High attention to detail;
7. Computer savvy with a strong ability to learn new skills quickly;
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
9. Punctual, reliable, and responsible;
10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
11. Strong work ethic.
