Job Description:
Department Overview:

The Legal Department at TD Bank Group includes corporate/commercial and litigation lawyers, tailored to meet the legal needs of TD's business units. The department aims to deliver expertise, service, responsiveness, and flexibility. Our lawyers identify opportunities, provide legal advice, and produce results with creative solutions.

Wealth Legal (Canada) specializes in securities laws and regulations governing Canada's Capital Markets, supporting TD Wealth's asset management and securities dealer businesses.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the preparation and circulation of legal, board, and committee documents
  • Preparing correspondence with Legal staff, Bank staff, and third-party agents
  • Responding to requests for information from lawyers and internal clients
  • Assisting lawyers with projects and initiatives
  • Identifying and recommending process improvements
  • Using departmental software and tools efficiently, including TeamConnect and Tymetrix
  • Managing inquiries and requests independently or redirecting as needed
  • Prioritizing and managing workflow to meet deadlines
  • Handling administrative duties like onboarding, filing, billing, and scheduling
  • Maintaining discretion and confidentiality, escalating issues when necessary
Educational and Qualification Requirements:
  • Legal Assistant, Law Clerk, or Paralegal Diploma preferred but not required
  • High school diploma required
  • 3+ years experience as a legal administrative/executive assistant preferred
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Adobe, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
