McMillan has an exciting opportunity as a full-time, bilingual, Legal Administrative Assistant in our Montréal office.

What You’ll Do

You will be a key addition to the fast-paced Advocacy, Employment & Labour team, maximizing your strong skills in Microsoft Office and attention to detail. You will be involved in a variety of tasks, including:

  • Preparing, drafting, and revising correspondence and various court documents, including those required by the Tribunal administratif du Travail and the CNESST.
  • Awareness of processes and deadlines for notifying, serving, and filing court documents.
  • Scheduling mediations, pre-trials, and trial dates, among other scheduling tasks.

The legal professionals in this group have document-intensive practices with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.

What You Bring

You have established yourself as a key resource with your experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PPT). You also have legal experience in a law firm environment as a Legal Administrative Assistant and are familiar with a variety of practice areas.

You possess strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills (both oral and written). You are proactive, detail-oriented, and able to effectively meet deadlines. You work well independently and in a team setting, providing an exceptional level of client service. The candidate must have a proactive and flexible attitude as well as keen attention to detail, including thorough proofreading skills in both languages. Candidates should be flexible with respect to working overtime on an as-needed basis.

The ideal candidate will have two to three years of experience, possess a good working knowledge of The Quebec Civil Code of Procedure, and be familiar with Tribunal administratif du Travail and CNESST processes and forms.
