Job summary

Northern College is seeking staff to support curriculum delivery and assessment for courses taught on-site by faculty from another location. The role includes invigilating tests, preparing classrooms, and assisting instructional designers with course development.

The successful candidate will have a secondary school education and up to six months of customer service experience, along with strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary school education, or equivalent.
  • Up to six months experience in a customer service environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the room for the lesson by turning on equipment, connecting technology, and distributing and collecting materials.
  • Assume classroom management responsibilities as instructed (i.e. attendance taking, etc.).
  • Facilitate communication between students and their professors.
  • Support test administration through invigilation and distributing and collecting test papers and answers.
  • Patrol the test venue to maintain a steady but calm presence, surveying the area to perceive abnormal activity, acting on cheating and other violations to the rules in a non-disruptive manner; and
  • Support the development of courses by transferring/modifying provided material to appropriate platforms as directed by LEID Staff.

Reporting to the Manager, Quality, Strategy and Analysis, the successful candidate will support the delivery of curriculum and assessment to all academic schools where courses are taught to students on-site by a faculty member from another location and ensuring academic integrity standards in classrooms are adhered to through classroom invigilation. The incumbent will also provide support to the instructional designers in the development of courses.

What you will be doing:

What you will need to be considered:

The successful candidate will posses organizational, critical thinking and management skills. In addition, the incumbent will possess effective communication skills (verbal and written), excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite), and excellent customer services skills.
