Northern College in Timmins is seeking an Accessibility Student Advisor to join our Accessibility Services and Advising teams. You will provide advisement and direct services to students with disabilities, supporting their educational journeys and success.
Reporting to the Timmins Campus Manager, you will coordinate assessments, connect students with assistive technology, offer learning strategies, and collaborate with community partners to ensure inclusive, barrier-free access to college

Reporting to the Timmins Campus Manager, the Accessibility Student Advisor is a front-line staff member that will offer advisement and direct services for the Accessibility Services and Advising Departments as part of a college-wide team.

The successful candidate will have knowledge in threat assessment, crisis intervention, and case management, assistive devices, assistive technology, and learning strategies. They must also have excellent working knowledge of computers and use of a wide variety of software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Kurzweil 3000, Read and Write, Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Inspiration, etc.), Crisis Intervention certification(s) (i.e. mental health first aid, or ASIST, or SafeTalk) are considered an asset.
The incumbent may be required to provide a criminal record check.
