Job summary

Northern Lights College in Dawson Creek invites applications for invigilators to supervise exams, read or scribe exam delivery, and enter scores into Colleague according to college protocols.

Shifts may occur day, evening, or weekends within 5:00 am–10:00 pm hours. Immediate start; term as needed up to 35 hours/week; wage $25.02/hour with 6% vacation pay and Christmas closure note.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12.
• Experience and proficiency with the current version of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to invigilate all exams strictly adhering to guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and the security of all tests, and completion of necessary documentation for all tests.
• Ability to learn and use databases.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as strong record keeping and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Invigilate exams and supervise students during CAAT tests as required.
• Enter scores from internal assessments into the Colleague database.
• Follow exam requirements established by the examining institution and invigilation protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of all tests and complete necessary documentation.

Salary:

Classification 5 $25.02 per hour in accordance with the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees are provided an additional $0.58/hour in lieu of benefits, and 6% vacation pay for all regular hours worked. The period between Christmas Day and New Year's Day is unpaid time during the College closure.

Description:

Invigilators supervise students writing a variety of exams on the Dawson Creek campus, which may include providing read or scribed exam delivery. Duties include marking/grading CAAT exams, following exam requirements established by the examining institution, and adhering to NLC's invigilation protocols. Invigilators also use NLC's database (Colleague) to enter scores from internal assessments.

Please note:

Shifts may be scheduled during the day, evening, and/or on weekends. NLC hours of operation are 5:00 am - 10:00 pm, and invigilation shifts may be scheduled within these hours.

Specific availability is required for the following shift blocks, in addition to availability for other scheduled shifts:

• 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
• 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
• 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm
