Qualifications

• Current certificate of competence from the Approved Institutions for the province.
• Registered or eligible for registration with the provincial college.
• Experience in Community or long-term care.
• Ability to work independently and in a team and prioritize urgent tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and comprehension skills.
• Creative problem-solving and big-picture thinking.

Responsibilities

• Ensure resident/patient care meets nursing standards and physicians' orders.
• Assist in assessment and monitoring and develop care plans.
• Supervise nursing and personal care staff on the unit.
• Monitor performance and refer issues to the Director of Care.
• Provide direction to the nursing department in the Director's absence.
