Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Hand Powder Coater to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in powder coating and industrial finishing, coupled with leadership skills to guide and support a team. As the Lead Hand Powder Coater, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the powder paint line, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe, productive work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and performing pre-coating preparation as required.
• Oversee the application of powder coating using appropriate techniques and equipment, ensuring even coverage and a high-quality finish.
• Conduct quality control inspections on painted surfaces, verifying they meet company standards and specifications.
• Provide guidance and training to junior team members, ensuring proper techniques, safety protocols, and productivity goals are followed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area, adhering to all safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors and other departments to ensure production goals are met while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with the powder coating process to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a powder coater, industrial painter, or in a similar lead role.
• Strong knowledge of powder coating techniques, surface preparation, and safety protocols.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform math calculations related to mixing, ratios, and measurements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team, with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring high-quality work.
• Ability to operate and maintain various power and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Prior experience with powder coating equipment, such as ovens and curing systems, is an asset.
