Job description

Transdev is hiring a Licensed Mechanic - Lead Hand for our Simcoe Location!

Reporting directly to the Fleet & Assets Manager:

You are responsible for leading fleet technicians engaged in the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment.

You will perform inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with all applicable Acts, regulations, and standards.

You will review crew work orders and external vendor invoices to analyze and identify repair trends or additional work needed.

You are responsible for evaluating and ensuring vehicle safety through preventative maintenance, in compliance with all Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Voyago guidelines.

You will utilize parts from inventory or order necessary parts through the Fleet Management software to make repairs.

You will complete repairs in a timely manner and service vehicles according to corporate policies and procedures.

You will repair vehicle heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, cooling systems, radiator components, water pumps, shutters, and hoses.

You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and hydraulic steering systems and perform wheel alignments.

You will accurately complete records, safety inspection reports, and other documentation to ensure proper and cost-effective repair and maintenance of equipment.

Your Profile
  • You are registered with the STO as a 310T Truck and Coach Mechanic or dual licensed mechanic; preference will be given to dual licensed mechanics.
  • You have ODP certification with A/C experience.
  • You have experience with light duty diesel repair, gasoline engines, and related systems.
  • You possess strong written and verbal communication skills and sound organizational abilities.
  • You demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
  • You have excellent customer service experience.
  • You hold a valid G class driving license and maintain a clean driving record.
