Job summary

The Toronto Region Board of Trade is seeking an ambitious Events Coordinator to plan, implement, and execute a high-volume event program. This role reports to the Director, Events and works with Commercial, Policy, Communications, and World Trade Centre teams to deliver exceptional experiences for members and sponsors.

With 6 months to 2 years of events experience and a background in event management or hospitality, you will manage registrations, budgets, vendors, and timelines while driving

Qualifications

• 6 months - 2 years' experience in an events environment with exposure to project management.
• Post Secondary Education or Event Management/hospitality program.
• Strategic outlook to create a unique and superior product for sponsors and members.
• Experience in catering/banquet and/or food and beverage industry.
• Some operational knowledge of room layouts and seating plans; banquet details.
• Strong speaking and written communication skills, customer service and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Daily management of TRBOT’s event registration system and support for members.
• Manage TRBOT’s general inquiries inbox and event invitations.
• Independently plan and execute assigned events, including budget management and vendor coordination.
• Support Sr. Managers in coordinating internal departments and external partners/vendors.
• Recommend programming and engagement ideas to improve events.
• Collaborate with Events team and external partners on event planning and execution.
• Lead on add-on projects as assigned by Sr. Director, Events
