Job summary

Affim is building a new team to own discovery, search, and related customer experiences in its advertising platform. The role focuses on setting technical strategy, guiding large-scale backend systems, and coordinating with product, design, and analytics to ensure scalable, reliable solutions.

You will own operational readiness, writing clean code, and shaping engineering culture through design standards and mentoring. A strong background in Python, Kotlin, and distributed systems is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with distributed systems and AWS, MySQL, Spark, Kubernetes.
• Experience delivering features and writing high-quality, maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics across the development lifecycle.
• Define and advocate technical solutions and operation processes.
• Own team operations, monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks and alerting.
• Promote code review standards and architecture guidelines.
• Mentor team members and lead by example.
