Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Helper / Labourer in Yellowknife, NT. You will support our service-focused team on a 5x2 shift, performing limited skilled duties, cleaning shops, assisting mechanics, fueling equipment, and helping with routine maintenance.

Strong mechanical skills and the ability to work in a team environment are essential. Applicants should have Grade 12, a pre-apprenticeship is a plus, and forklift certification is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12.
• Completion of a pre-apprenticeship program is an asset.
• Mechanically inclined, self-starter, able to follow directions, team player.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Past experience in a maintenance shop environment, mechanical experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• General clean up of shop, yard and machines.
• Assist Journeyperson Mechanics with minor repairs.
• Aid Mechanics with removal and installation of guards and steaming.
• Fueling machines.
• Minor service of machines (oil changes etc.).
• Attachment maintenance.
• General service shop duties.
