Job summary

Finning Canada is hiring a Labourer in Fort McKay, AB to support the field service team and maintain shop organization and safety.

The role involves assisting mechanics, moving equipment, and performing routine maintenance tasks. Opportunities for CAT training are provided, with overtime potentially available and housing options for non-locals.

Qualifications

• Completion of grade 12 and mechanically inclined.
• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract; required to be 21 years or older.
• Ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
• Self-starter able to follow directions and work under supervision.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Move equipment in and out of the shop.
• Assist mechanics with removal and installation of guards.
• Perform oil sampling, lubrication and oil changes.
• Wash and detail equipment.
• Assist field and shop mechanics as required.
• General clean up of shop, yard, field sites, parts and machines.
• Other duties as required.

As a labourer, you will support efficient shop operations by performing low-complexity tasks contributing directly to workplace organization, safety, and process flow in alignment with Finning Opx standards.

Job Description:

• Moving equipment in and out of the shop
• Aid mechanics with the removal and installation of guards

• Other General Duties as required

Qualifications:

• Completion of grade 12 and mechanically inclined.
• Valid Driver's License with successful recent driver abstract, due to safety requirements must be minimum 21 years of age.
• Physical requirement ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
• Self-starter able to follow directions, assist and work under the direction of a Field Heavy Duty Mechanic and possess the motivation necessary to contribute positively to a safe team environment.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Experience working within a heavy equipment maintenance environment, basic equipment knowledge, along with preventative maintenance experience would be considered assets.

Important Information:

• This position is based in Fort Mckay, AB on a 14x14 Shift. (Days and Nights Required)
• Hours and shift schedule may be subject to change to meet customer and/or Finning (Canada) requirements. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement
