Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CAT equipment in a Kamloops shop, with a 7x7 rotation and full benefits. You will prepare new equipment for customers, interface with sales support, and uphold our customer service commitment.

Ideal candidates have Red Seal or journeyperson status, and strong experience with electrical, hydraulic and emissions systems, plus assets in forestry/mining equipment and engine rebuilding.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (Red Seal preferred).
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems.
• Experience with construction, forestry and mining equipment is an asset.
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be beneficial.
• Gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a shop environment.
• Preparing new equipment for customers.
• Interface with customers, products and sales support.
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment.
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using testing equipment to determine repair scope.
• Provide support with reference to on-site safety requirements.

• Wage: $50.25 - $55.84
• Double time paid on Sundays and Statutory Holidays

Job Description

• Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a shop environment. Experience with forestry, construction, mining and general line equipment is beneficial
• Preparing new equipment for customers
• Interface with customers, products and sales support
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment

• Previous new equipment prep experience is an asset

Important Details

• This position is based out of Kamloops, on a 7x7 shift rotation
• A condition of employment may include the ability to wear a respirator
