Job summary

Finning in Fort St John is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to support its expanding operations. You will troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment both in the shop and in the field, delivering reliable performance for our customers.

Preferred candidates hold Heavy Duty Mechanic certification with experience on Caterpillar gear and are willing to travel to customer sites. Finning offers competitive pay of $55.84/hr base plus $2.55/hr field premium, comprehensive benefits, and CAT-certified

Qualifications

• Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
• Caterpillar and general line equipment repair experience.
• Experience working out of a service truck.
• Completion, or be in the process of completing Finning S-level courses.
• Computer literacy with Finning systems/software knowledge is a plus.

Job Description:

Basic Functions:

• In this role, you’ll put your skills into action by partnering directly with customers to keep their operations running at peak performance. You’ll troubleshoot and oversee repairs on a wide range of Caterpillar equipment - both in the shop and out in the field- leveraging your technical knowledge to build trust, solve challenges, and deliver the reliability our customers depend on.

Qualifications:

• Heavy Duty Mechanic certification
• Previous Caterpillar and general line equipment repair experience
• Experience working out of a service truck
• Completion, or be in the process of completing Finning S-level courses
• Computer literacy along with an understanding of Finning systems and software programs would be considered assets

Note:

• Must be able and willing to travel to and from customer sites across our territory
• Tooled company truck supplied, hotel & per diem or camp (when applicable)
