Ideal candidates have at least 2 years as labourers and at least 1 year mine experience, a valid license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and English proficiency. Pre-employment testing and safety certifications are required.

• At least 1 year of previous mine experience.
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
• Valid CSO, Silica Awareness, Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness, OHS Alberta Legislation, Field Ergonomics.

North American Construction Group is hiring Skilled Ground Workers for their remote mining site team at Fort Hills near Fort McMurray, Alberta. These positions offer the chance to work on one of the region’s largest and safest contracts, with excellent compensation and benefits. Ideal candidates are experienced labourers with a strong safety focus and a willingness to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment.

What You’ll Need

• Minimum 2 years experience in a labourer role
• At least 1 year of previous mine experience
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and recent Driver’s Abstract
• Physically fit; able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors
• High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education (asset)
• Proficient in English (verbal and written)
• Valid CSO, Silica Awareness, Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness, OHS Alberta Legislation, Field Ergonomics
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing: breath alcohol, urine drug, fitness-to-work, audiometric, and vision screening
• Safety-first attitude and strong listening skills

What Will Make You Stand Out

• Previous experience driving in the mine, shoveling, raking, grade/laser work, managing pumps and dewatering, installing piping and backfill
