Job summary

Kichton Construction LP is seeking full-time Grader Operators to join the Fort Hills site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. You will operate 14 and 16 size Graders in a mining/earthworks context, attend pre-use inspections, and follow strict safety protocols.

The role offers 12-hour days, 14 on/7 off rotation, and benefits after probation. Strong English communication and a valid Class 5 license are required for site access and safe operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in a mining atmosphere
• Experience in a production environment
• Ability to follow instructions for safe operation
• Safety-first attitude; strong listening skills
• English proficiency in speaking and writing
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Operate 14 and 16 size Graders in a mining or heavy construction earthworks environment
• Conduct pre-use inspections to ensure safe operation
• Assist with fueling and servicing of equipment
• Coordinate with loading/dumping equipment
• Follow mine driving rules and safety policies
• Use required PPE and safety gear
• Review safe work plans and hazard assessments before starting
• Report repairs to maintenance or supervisors
• Report incidents and near misses immediately

Kichton Construction LP is looking for full-time Grader Operators to join our team in Fort McMurray working at Fort Hills for Suncor.

Where You’ll Be Working

• Site: Fort Hills
• Schedule: 12-hour days (paid for 11.5 hours). 14 days on, 7 off. 14 nights on, 7 off.
• Camp accommodation is provided with your own room and bathroom
• Flights are provided to and from Edmonton or Calgary.
• Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after rotation).

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operate 14 and 16 size Graders in a mining or heavy construction earthworks environment
• Complete pre-use equipment inspections to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition
• Participate in the safe fueling and servicing of equipment
• Interact with loading and dumping equipment
• Follow mine driving rules
• Ensure compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies, operating standards, and procedures
• Using adequate and suitable safety equipment, including all required PPE
• Reviewing safe work plans/ hazard assessment with prior to job commencement and follow all requirements
• Report any necessary repairs to the maintenance team or supervisors
• Report all incidents, near misses or damage immediately
