Job summary

Sureway Construction Group is seeking a Labourer for Fort McMurray and surrounding area. The role requires hard work, reliability, and flexibility with a demanding schedule of 10+ hours per day and potential overtime after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week.

Responsibilities include site preparation, debris removal, maintaining safety, and assisting with material handling. A personal vehicle is required and CSA-compliant boots are recommended.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare construction sites, remove debris and waste.

• Load and unload construction supplies; operate equipment when required.
• Promote and adhere to the company safety program with all workers and subcontractors.

Labourer - Fort McMurray

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta's largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type Full Time, Seasonal

Schedule 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Essential Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

Requirements

• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6" ankle support

Pre-employment

• Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Labourer Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches.
• Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use.
• Load and unload construction supplies from trucks manually and at times may be asked to use equipment.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Labourer Requirements

• Skid Steer experience is considered an asset
