Job summary

Sureway Construction Group Ltd. is seeking an Excavator Operator for mainline work in Fort McMurray.

The role involves excavation and installation of pipe on line and grade, adhering to safety standards and coordinating with ground personnel on site. The ideal candidate has 4+ years as a mainline hoe operator with experience in water/sewer installations, subdivision servicing, and urban renewal projects, and is prepared to travel to Fort McMurray.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years' experience as a Mainline Hoe operator.
• Experience in water/sewer installations, subdivision servicing, roadway construction and urban renewal projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavator in the excavation and installation process for laying pipe on line and grade.
• Ensure trench is excavated to the proper depth/grade.
• Rig pipe, manhole barrels, and other materials safely while lowering into the excavation.
• Operate excavator near ground personnel and equipment.
• Promote and adhere to the company safety program and foster a safety culture.

Schedule 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Travel to and from Fort McMurray is required and is the responsibility of the candidate.

Requirements

• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6\" ankle support

Pre-employment

• Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Mainline Excavator Operator Responsibilities

• Work with ground personnel in the excavation and installation process of laying pipe on line and grade.
• Ensure trench is excavated to the proper depth/grade.
• Be aware of proper rigging of pipe, manhole barrels, etc. and ensure safe work procedures are followed during the lowering of materials into the excavation.
• Operate excavator in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
