Job summary

Marinus Services, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, seeks a highly organized Labour Dispatch Coordinator to support marine terminal labour dispatch activities. You will coordinate daily scheduling, maintain dispatch and payroll records, ensure compliance with collective agreements, and communicate with multiple teams in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Ideal candidates are systematic, calm under pressure, and able to handle frequent changes.

Qualifications

• Experience in workforce management, labour scheduling, dispatch, logistics, operations coordination or similar environment.
• Experience in a unionized environment is a strong asset.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage schedules, records, requests and follow-up activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily labour scheduling and workforce assignments in support of a 24/7 marine terminal operation.
• Prepare and maintain work orders, dispatch records, labour reports and other workforce documentation.
• Review and verify employee timekeeping and payroll information for accuracy.
• Monitor changing operational requirements and respond to scheduling adjustments, cancellations and short-notice requests.
• Support compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements and established dispatch procedures.
• Communicate clearly with terminal operation teams, labour representatives, employees, payroll and stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and executed accurately.
