Job summary

PTI Transformers LP is seeking a L1 Material Handler to offload, organize, store, kit and deliver materials to production under supervision. Responsibilities include forklift operation, cycle counts, material tracking and proofof delivery signatures.

You will work in a safety‑driven manufacturing environment and support continuous production flow. The role requires at least a high school diploma, 2 years forklift experience, and basic tool knowledge; training in WHMIS, forklift, crane and TDG

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 Education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years forklift experience.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tool use.
  • Front end loader experience is an asset.
  • Understanding of MRP system is an asset.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, is an asset.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and work in a team environment.
  • Organized, ability to plan, prioritize and with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with weights and measurements.
  • Ability to obtain the following training as required: WHMIS, Forklift, Crane, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and other safe work training applicable to Material Handling.

Responsibilities

  • Off-loading deliveries from trucks and flagging visible damage.
  • Delivering incoming parts from receiving and stores warehouse to appropriate areas.
  • Storing parts in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Removing pallets and crates.
  • Tracking material being shipped to the outside warehouse and material being returned.
  • Recording materials delivered to Production and obtaining a signature for proof of delivery.
  • Keeping core steel, insulation material, winding conductor, and cable covered.
  • Performing stock checks and doing cycle counts.
  • Kitting material as per production requirements.
  • Removing scrap material from holding areas.
  • Identifying shortages and informing Supervisor or Lead Hand as directed.
  • Safely operating forklift, hand truck, overhead crane or other equipment (including front end loader) to load, unload, transport and store goods.
  • Ensuring that tasks are executed safely, following all safety protocols and procedures to protect the employees, equipment and the transformer.
  • Utilizing effective time management to meet production deadlines.
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job description
