Job summary

PTI Transformers is seeking a Test Technician in Regina to perform electrical and mechanical tests, build and wire control panels, and record test data. You will contribute to quality and safety standards before shipment, collaborating with the Test Department to ensure transformer performance meets specifications.

The role requires post-secondary electrician training or equivalent, with preference for journeyman status and hands-on experience with transformers.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education as an Electrician, or equivalent.
  • Journeyperson Electrician is a strong asset.
  • 2 years of industrial experience with basic knowledge of transformers.
  • Valid Driver’s License must be held and maintained for this position.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Ability to lift items up to and exceeding 50lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.

Job description

As a Test Technician, you will be responsible for performing, measuring, and recording test results according to specified requirements. You will build, install, and wire electrical control panels, perform wiring checks, conduct equipment maintenance, and complete oil sampling procedures. Working as part of the Test Department, you will play a key role in ensuring PTI transformers meet quality, safety, and customer specifications prior to shipment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Perform electrical and mechanical tests according to specified requirements using safe work practices.
  • Record and verify test results on appropriate documentation and enter data into company systems.
  • Build, install, and wire electrical control panels and perform wiring checks.
  • Performing other duties as allocated.

WHAT IT TAKES
