Job summary

Franklin Empire Inc. in Toronto is seeking a Junior IT Technician to support our daily IT operations at the Toronto Branch. You will install, test, and maintain computer equipment, assist users, and help with network and security tasks.

The role requires a diploma in computer science and hands-on experience with Microsoft OS, Active Directory, Office 365, and Endpoint Management. We offer a hybrid work arrangement after probation, group insurance and a pension plan.

Qualifications

• Diploma in computer science or related field (DEP/DEC/AEC).
• Experience installing and supporting Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, Endpoint Management (TS), TCP/IP.
• Windows and Office 365 experience.
• Knowledge of networking basics (routers, firewall, VPN).
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, maintain and update computer equipment (computers, peripherals, programs and software).
• Check computer hardware to ensure functionality.
• Manage security mechanisms; troubleshoot hardware, OS and software remotely and on-site.
• Report anomalies and provide solutions for optimal use.
• Participate in projects for new technologies and implementations.
• Diagnose breakdowns and apply corrections.
• Provide user support for equipment and software.
• Update customer and company technical documentation.
• Identify shortages of computer or network equipment.

Job description

Franklin Empire Inc.supplies electrical components for new construction, renovation and maintenance of industrial plants, residences and commercial buildings. We provide OEM and MRO solutions (maintenance, repair and operation), lighting design, inventory management, training, automation expertise, and specialized services.

We are presently in search of a Junior IT Technician for our Toronto Branch

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, test, maintain and update computer equipment (computers, peripherals, programs and software, etc.)
• Check computer hardware (hard drive, mouse, keyboards, etc.) to ensure functionality
• Management of the various security mechanisms;
• Troubleshooting computer hardware, operating systems and software in person, remotely and by phone;
• Report anomalies or breakdowns in the operation of equipment, provide the solutions required for optimal use;
• Participate in projects for the implementation of new technologies and projects;
• Participate in the diagnosis of breakdowns and make corrections;
• Provide support to internal users on the handling of equipment and software;
• Update of the customer's and company's technical documentation;
• Identify computer or network equipment shortages.

Key requirements:

• DEP, DEC or AEC in computer science or any other related field;
• Experience in the installation and technical support of Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, Endpoint Management (TS), TCP/IP Protocol, Ticketing System;
• Windows and Office 365 experience;
• Knowledge of networking - Routers, Firewall, VPN;
• Knowledge of the mechanics of backups in business;
• Diagnostic and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication skills and very good customer service;
