Cooper Equipment Rentals in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Red Seal certified Heavy Equipment Technician with strong diagnostic and repair skills on a diverse fleet of construction equipment. The role requires experience with diesel and gas engines, hydraulics and electrical systems, and is built for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, safety-conscious shop.

You'll diagnose, service and maintain equipment, document inspections and work orders, and contribute to a clean, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• Red Seal or Journeyperson status or 3rd year apprentice required.
• Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
• Must have own tools.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Strong safety mindset and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform repairs; test for proper performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance and work orders.
• Promote a safe, orderly shop and yard; follow all company policies and safety rules.

You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.Must have own tools.Available and willing to work over-time as needed.Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.Expertise in diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.Demonstrated commitment to safety, with a strong focus on following procedures and promoting a safe work environment.Eagerness to continuously learn and stay up to date with emerging technology.Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
