Job summary

Major Refrigeration Ltd. is seeking an experienced HVAC Journeyperson to service commercial and industrial refrigeration systems across Ontario, including Barrie, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Port Elgin, Sarnia, Windsor and Owen Sound.

The role emphasizes installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of refrigeration equipment and rooftop units, requiring strong diagnostic abilities, safety compliance, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Licensed 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial Refrigeration/HVAC experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• ODP certification required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service and repair refrigeration equipment and rooftop units.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Read and interpret HVAC/R schematics and blueprints.
• Work with commercial/industrial refrigeration systems (walk-ins, rooftops, etc.).
• Maintain safety and compliance with codes and company standards.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 To $150,000.00 Annually

The Position

We are currently seeking a skilled HVAC Journeyperson to join our growing team. Open positions focus on commercial and industrial refrigeration service, maintenance, and troubleshooting across multiple sites throughout the Barrie, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Port Elgin, Sarnia, Windsor or Owen Sound area.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Strong diagnose, troubleshoot, service and repair refrigeration equipment and rooftop units
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC/R schematics and blueprints
• Experience working with commercial or industrial refrigeration systems (ie. racks walk-in coolers/freezers, rooftop units etc.)
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and team-oriented attitude
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with codes and company standards and legislation
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Licenced 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic
• Minimum 5 years of commercial Refrigeration/HVAC experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with gas heating, refrigeration systems, and airflow principles
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls
• Willing and able to work overtime, as required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
• ODP certification required
