Job summary

Major Refrigeration Ltd. is seeking an HVAC Journeyperson to service, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial and industrial refrigeration systems across Nova Scotia, including Dalhousie, Dartmouth, Halifax, and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will hold a 313A license, have 5+ years of HVAC refrigeration experience, and possess ODP certification. A company vehicle is provided and opportunities for ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic license.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial Refrigeration/HVAC experience.
• ODP certification required.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service and repair refrigeration equipment and rooftop units.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Read and interpret HVAC/R schematics and blueprints.
• Work safely and in compliance with codes and company standards.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 To $150,000.00 Annually

The Position

We are currently seeking a skilled HVAC Journeyperson to join our growing team. Open positions focus on commercial and industrial refrigeration service, maintenance, and troubleshooting across multiple sites throughout the Nova Scotia (Dalhousie, Dartmouth, Halifax, New Glasgow, Shelburne, Truro, Windsor, Upper/Lower Sackville) area.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Strong diagnose, troubleshoot, service and repair refrigeration equipment and rooftop units
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC/R schematics and blueprints
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and team-oriented attitude
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with codes and company standards and legislation
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Licenced 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic
• Minimum 5 years of commercial Refrigeration/HVAC experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with gas heating, refrigeration systems, and airflow principles
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls
• Willing and able to work overtime, as required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
• ODP certification required
