What You'll Do:

The primary responsibility of the IT Administrator is to devote great care into ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient operations of all information systems that support company operations. As a crucial role that supports the activities of almost all company operations, this position is responsible for having and applying specialized knowledge and professional judgment to investigate, analyze, design, build, and operate IT systems that drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Applies specialized knowledge and professional judgment in problem solving and to investigate, analyze, design, build, and operate IT systems that drive business success.
  • Oversees the administration and management of SpeedLine’s IT Infrastructure, including but not limited to WAN connections, LAN infrastructure, telephone system, servers, virtual servers, workstations, printers, and physical cable infrastructure.
  • Plans and directs the implementation of additions, deletions, and major modifications to the IT infrastructure.
  • Oversees file management on centralized resources or on individual workstations.
  • Manages and maintains network user accounts, access rights for all staff, server installed applications, proper licenses and the purchase and tracking of all software, hardware and IT Supplies and assets.
  • Maintains confidence of confidential information and shares only with those authorized to it.
  • Builds and maintains vendor relationships.
  • Drives automated management of servers and workstations for efficient operations.
  • Trains new staff on IT systems as required.
  • Provides technical advice to SpeedLine staff and sometimes customers.
  • Manages and maintains security system access, including the assigning of pass-codes and analyzing and reporting on suspicious activity.
  • Ensures that all daily operations procedures are documented and documentation is kept current.
  • Oversees the administration of the internal IT help desk and ensures that all interactions are logged and resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provides input into IT strategy, annual IT budget, and into IT acceptable use policy development.
  • Keeps abreast of IT technology, and maintains a library of information.
  • Performs capacity forecasting and lifecycle management.
  • Keeps current with new security threats, including but not limited to viruses, trojans, malware, and hacking techniques and maintain computer security, anti-virus, and spyware updates on all applicable equipment.
  • Ensures that the company’s IT systems are secure against internal and external threats.
  • Regularly reviews and applies all necessary operating system and application updates.
  • Analyze, design and oversee the implementation and administration of all IT security systems.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of data archiving and internal and external backups.
  • Develops disaster recovery and contingency plans to ensure ongoing IT operations.
We are looking for someone who has:
  • Preferably, a post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate program in a related field.
  • Current certifications or equivalent expertise.
  • A strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced operating system, networking, and system support knowledge and experience.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, follow-up and customer service skills.
  • Excellent team work skills.
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple projects and react quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong multitasker who demonstrates good project management skills.
  • A detail oriented approach with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent typing and computer skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently, problem-solve, and perform a variety of tasks.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, and have and maintain reliable transportation.
Salary Range:

$75,000 - 85,000 annually

Working Arrangements:

This position is an in-office position and requires on site attendance five days per week.
