Here’s what you will do:

  • Review and seal drawings prepared by design staff.
  • Use AutoCAD for design and drafting of mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems for ICI (Commercial, Institutional and Industrial) projects.
  • Process and review shop drawings/submittals and RFI's.
  • Prepare estimates of project costs and schedules.
  • Participate in client meetings and communications (phone, email, Teams, etc.) regarding project reporting, trades coordination, and problem resolution.
  • Travel to customer sites for site reviews to determine work progress and quality.
  • Troubleshoot problems effectively and provide updates to all required stakeholders. Exercise sound judgement and act in a way that protects the interests of the company while maintaining relationships with customers and other partners.
  • Utilize a variety of relevant computer programs including AutoCAD, load analysis, energy modeling and Microsoft Office products.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Post‑secondary education in Mechanical Engineering. P. Eng designation is an asset but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Canadian experience designing HVAC and Plumbing systems.
  • Sound knowledge of codes and standards, including OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, and ASPE standards.
  • Design experience across multiple industries, including commercial, industrial, educational, multi‑unit residential, healthcare, and government. A portfolio would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with an ability to work collaboratively and strategically with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A proven ability to multitask and deliver quality work within defined deadlines. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential to success in this role, as well as strong decision‑making skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with the ability to travel to customer sites in Ontario.
