A leading project controls firm is seeking an Intermediate Cost and Schedule Analyst located in Mattawa, ON, for a 12-month contract role. The successful candidate will engage in comprehensive monthly project performance reporting, cost forecasting, and support earned value management. Location: Mattawa, ON
Work Arrangement: On-site, 5 days per week
Employment Type: 12 month contract with annual renewals
Hourly Rate: $65 - $75/hour
Relocation Assistance Available, including: $3,500 initial relocation allowance and $150 per day for up to 30 days to support transition
We are seeking an Intermediate Cost and Schedule Analyst to support project controls activities on a major power‑sector project in Mattawa, Ontario. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate cost control, schedule performance, forecasting, and reporting across complex capital projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with project management, engineering, construction, procurement, and finance teams to drive high‑quality project outcomes.
Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly project updates covering cost, schedule, key risks, trends, and variances.
Collect, validate, and consolidate inputs from project controls, engineering, construction, scheduling, and finance teams.
Produce reporting aligned with client standards, governance requirements, and I2PD principles.
Ensure timely submission in accordance with project governance timelines.
Track and maintain accurate logs of internal POs, commitments, accruals, obligations, and expenditures.
Monitor PO aging, remaining commitments, cost-to-complete, and identify discrepancies.
Proactively escalation issues to the Project Manager and procurement/finance teams for resolution.
Develop, update, and maintain monthly cost forecasts external to EcoSys using actuals, accruals, incurred costs, and forward‑looking forecasts-to-complete (FTC).
Identify cost trends, variances, and emerging risks.
Provide clear explanations for deviations from the approved IPD EMP budget.
Collaborate closely with project controls and finance teams to ensure alignment.
Support earned value preparation for client L1 governance meetings.
Calculate CPI, SPI, earned value curves, productivity factors, and forecast‑at‑complete metrics.
Support performance analysis and scenario‑based forecasting.
Report day‑to‑day to the site Project Manager.
Collaborate with planning/scheduling, finance, procurement, construction, and engineering teams.
Prepare clear, accurate reports and visualizations for leadership review.
3–7 years of experience in cost analysis, forecasting, project controls, or scheduling.
Experience supporting industrial, energy, power generation, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting, earned value management, and variance analysis.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with SAP; EcoSys and/or Ariba experience is a strong asset.
Familiarity with I2PD, work packaging, or integrated delivery models is an advantage.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Mattawa, ON (5 days per week).
