Job Summary
Now, if you were to come on board as our Intermediate Accountant, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Vendor & Member Setup
- Review Participation Agreements (PA) for new member payable number requests.
- Coordinate set up of new member partners in the system.
- Payments & Payables
- Create payable requests for member payments.
- Handle returned cheques: receive, notify account managers, and reissue payments.
- Respond to member or account manager queries regarding payment status, dates, and details.
- Accounting & Reconciliation
- Execute period-end accounting tasks:
- Combine data from various sources to book rebate revenue and commission accruals.
- Identify and process re-accruals.
- Reconcile data across systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage deferred revenue and reconcile payments to members
- Perform cost center analysis for Foodbuy member development overhead.
- Client Incentives & Marketing Funds
- Calculate, accrue, and process payouts for client incentives and marketing funds.
- Reporting
- Prepare and deliver reporting for key members, as required
Role
Think you have what it takes to be our Intermediate Accountant? We’re committed to hiring the best talent for the role. Here’s how we’ll know you’ll be successful in the role:
- Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA certification.
- 3+ years of experience in Financial Accounting.
- Proficiency in JDE or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel skills and high attention to detail.
- Experience in supply chain accounting or Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Solid understanding of accrual accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
- Highly organized with a strong focus on accuracy in financial reporting.
