Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Financial Accounting.
• Experience in supply chain accounting or Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) considered an asset.
• Solid understanding of accrual accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Review Participation Agreements for new member payable number requests.
• Create payable requests for member payments.
• Execute period-end accounting tasks.
• Calculate, accrue, and process payouts for client incentives.

Job Summary

Now, if you were to come on board as our Intermediate Accountant, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

• Vendor & Member Setup
  • Review Participation Agreements (PA) for new member payable number requests.
  • Coordinate set up of new member partners in the system.
• Payments & Payables
  • Create payable requests for member payments.
  • Handle returned cheques: receive, notify account managers, and reissue payments.
  • Respond to member or account manager queries regarding payment status, dates, and details.
• Accounting & Reconciliation
  • Execute period-end accounting tasks:
    • Combine data from various sources to book rebate revenue and commission accruals.
    • Identify and process re-accruals.
    • Reconcile data across systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage deferred revenue and reconcile payments to members
  • Perform cost center analysis for Foodbuy member development overhead.
• Client Incentives & Marketing Funds
  • Calculate, accrue, and process payouts for client incentives and marketing funds.
• Reporting
  • Prepare and deliver reporting for key members, as required

• CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA certification.

• Experience in supply chain accounting or Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) is considered an asset.

• Solid understanding of accrual accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
• Highly organized with a strong focus on accuracy in financial reporting.
