Job summary

Kinetic Search Group seeks an Inside Sales Representative to support Canada’s utility and infrastructure market. You’ll respond to inquiries, prepare quotations, and close sales while delivering technical product solutions. Strong Excel, CRM experience and customer-focused service are essential in a fast-paced, industry-leading team.

You will collaborate with procurement, operations, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and growth in a critical electrical infrastructure sector.

Qualifications

  • Experience in inside sales, customer service, electrical distribution, industrial products, or technical sales.
  • Experience supporting utility, power distribution, electrical infrastructure, industrial, or construction customers is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for providing exceptional service.
  • Experience using CRM systems is an asset.
  • Knowledge of medium- and high-voltage electrical products, utility equipment, or power distribution systems is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Sales & Build Customer Relationships: Respond to customer inquiries, identify new opportunities, prepare quotations, close sales, and upsell.
  • Deliver Technical Solutions: Review specifications, source pricing, and provide guidance on products and engineered solutions.
  • Manage Quotes & Orders: Coordinate quotations from request to order, ensure pricing and delivery commitments, support post-sale issues.
  • Analyze & Optimize: Use Excel and CRM to track opportunities, quotations, and sales performance; analyze pricing and trends.
  • Collaborate Across the Business: Work with procurement, operations, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver complete solutions; maintain quote status and inventory updates.

Our client is a leading distributor of medium-voltage and high-voltage electrical products and engineered solutions serving Canada's utility and power infrastructure market. They partner with electric utilities, municipalities, EPC firms, utility contractors, and industrial customers to support the construction, maintenance, and modernization of transmission, distribution, and substation infrastructure across the country.

As an Inside Sales Representative, you'll play a key role in delivering technical product solutions, developing customer relationships, and supporting projects that help power communities across Canada. Responsibilities

Drive Sales & Build Customer Relationships

  • Respond to customer inquiries and proactively identify new business opportunities.
  • Prepare accurate, competitive quotations for utility, contractor, and infrastructure projects.
  • Close sales, identify upselling opportunities, and contribute to sales growth.
  • Build strong customer relationships by understanding application requirements and recommending the right solutions.

Deliver Technical Solutions

  • Review project specifications and customer requirements to recommend appropriate electrical products and solutions.
  • Source pricing, availability, and delivery information from manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Recommend alternative products and engineered solutions when required.
  • Provide customers with technical product guidance throughout the sales process.

Manage Quotes & Orders

  • Coordinate quotations from initial request through order completion.
  • Process orders accurately while ensuring pricing, margins, and delivery commitments are achieved.
  • Monitor order status, resolve issues proactively, and provide exceptional post-sale support.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, operations, suppliers, and logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery.

Analyze & Optimize

  • Utilize Excel and CRM tools to manage opportunities, track quotations, and monitor sales performance.
  • Analyze pricing, vendor comparisons, and market trends to develop competitive quotations.
  • Evaluate manufacturer options and negotiate pricing where appropriate.
  • Support reporting and business decisions through data analysis.

Collaborate Across the Business

  • Work closely with procurement, operations, category management, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver complete customer solutions.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding quote status, pricing updates, inventory availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify replenishment needs to help prevent supply disruptions.
