Job summary

Russel Metals is seeking a motivated Inside Sales Representative for Nanaimo, BC. This full-time, permanent role focuses on growing revenues, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced metals distribution environment.

You will engage with customers, coordinate with purchasing, and use MS Office tools to manage quotes, orders, and follow-ups. Base salary is $65,000 per year with eligibility for a monthly sales incentive after the probationary period.

Qualifications

• Outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.
• Experience moving contracts and programs is an asset.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Grow the revenues and profits in accordance with the business plan.
• Identify and maximize all sales and market development opportunities.
• Ensure outstanding customer service is provided by developing rapport and strengthening relationships with all customers.
• Monitor, evaluate, and make recommendations with respect to lost sales opportunities to continually improve sales results.
• Effective communication and negotiation with external and internal customers.
• Liaise with purchasing to ensure sufficient product is available to meet demand.
• Identify slow-moving products to establish reduction targets.
• Improve productivity and gross margin by meeting customers' tolerances, deliveries, and quality.

• Outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with individuals from all levels of a company.
• Experience moving contracts and programs throughout all levels of a company would be considered an asset
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience within a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and time managing within that environment
• Post-secondary schooling will be considered an asset

Base Salary: $65,000 per year, plus eligibility to participate in the monthly sales incentive program after completing the three-month probationary period.
