Job summary

Russel Metals in Nanaimo, BC is seeking a Warehouse Person to support metals distribution operations. The role involves operating an overhead crane and forklift, selecting and packing material to customer specifications, and running saw equipment and other machinery.

You will also load and unload trucks, perform daily preventative maintenance, ensure quality customer service, and comply with safety policies; lifting up to 50 lb is required and training is provided in a safety sensitive

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent; those with experience in the industry will also be given consideration
• Able to work shift work (Days, Afternoons, or Nights) as required
• Previous forklift and overhead crane experience is considered an asset
• Able to perform some heavy lifting (at least 50 lbs.) and standing for periods of time
• Good knowledge of math and measurements
• Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory
• Self-motivated, results oriented
• Pre-employment medical and drug evaluation due to safety sensitive environment
