About the opportunity

What if your next Inside Sales role was also the starting point for something bigger?

That’s the opportunity we’re recruiting for.

Our client is looking for an Inside Sales Representative to join their Coquitlam branch following the retirement of a long-standing team member who is wrapping up an exceptional 27- year career with the company.

For nearly a century, this Canadian-owned organization has built a strong reputation with contractors, industrial businesses and construction professionals through knowledgeable people, quality products and exceptional customer service. They’ve grown into a national leader while maintaining the values and relationships that have helped people build long careers with the company.

The Opportunity

As the Inside Sales Representative, you’ll become a trusted resource for customers across the Lower Mainland. You’ll help customers find the right products, prepare quotations, answer questions and ensure every interaction reflects the level of service the company is known for.

You’ll also have the opportunity to learn the business from an experienced team and build a strong foundation for your career.
The company is specifically looking for someone they can invest in and develop. For the right person, there is potential to progress into an outside sales position or take on additional responsibility within the organization over the next 18–24 months.

So while this role starts in Inside Sales, it has the potential to become a much bigger opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email and at the sales counter
  • Prepare quotations and provide pricing, product availability and product recommendations
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through responsive, professional service
  • Coordinate with suppliers and warehouse staff to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
  • Support receiving, shipping, inventory and other branch operations as required
  • Maintain accurate customer and order information using internal systems
  • Contribute to a collaborative, customer-focused branch environment

What You’ll Bring:

We’re looking for someone who enjoys helping customers, solving problems and building relationships, but who also wants to grow and take on more responsibility over time.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Experience in inside sales, customer service or industrial distribution
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and ERP or CRM software
  • Experience in construction, industrial supplies, fasteners, tools, building materials, electrical, plumbing, HVAC or a related industry is considered a strong asset
  • A genuine interest in learning the business and progressing within the organization

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Highly attractive compensation of $70,000–$82,000
  • Comprehensive extended health and dental coverage
  • RRSP matching program
  • 3 weeks paid vacation
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Potential career progression into outside sales or other opportunities within the organization

Why Join?

This position is available because a valued employee is retiring after 27 years with the company. That kind of tenure speaks volumes about the organization and the opportunity to build a long-term career. But the goal isn’t simply to replace someone who is retiring. The company is looking for someone they can develop, invest in and potentially move into a larger role within 18–24 months.

If you’re looking for an established company, a strong team and a role where your career can continue to develop, we’d welcome the opportunity to have a confidential conversation.

All applications will be held in the strictest confidence.
