Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient Information Security Analyst to support the Information & Technology Services department. The Information Security Analyst provides intake, assessment and prioritization of requests for IT Security Services and/or events that require IT Information Security incident response. The Analyst assists in coordinating investigations into security-related incidents and policy violations and participates as a key member of an integrated breach response team. The Analyst deals with sensitive information and situations and provides training and education on NH Information Security procedures, policies, standards and guidelines at all levels of the organization.

Starting salary will be approximately from $74,618 to $93,273 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
  • Graduation from a recognized degree program in Computer Science, plus five (5) years recent, related experience in an enterprise, public sector and/or health care environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Certification in a cyber-security discipline (CISSP, CEH, CISA, SANS) desirable. Active CISSP, SANS GIAC, or Security + certification preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows desktop and server technologies in a large information technology environment.
  • Knowledge of electronic information systems and information management processes (ITIL).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of information security principles, standards, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with professionalism, tact, confidentiality and discretion.
  • Good working knowledge of core security technologies including firewalls, anti-malware, intrusion prevention, encryption, and web content filtering.
  • Investigative and analytical skills to research, analyze, and interpret data and information from a variety of disparate sources.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize, complete assignments, and schedule activities.
  • Ability to set priorities and work unsupervised in a complex environment.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle and possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver's license.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
