Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in social work or a related degree with three to five years related experience (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with Mi'kmaq and Indigenous students and communities.
  • Demonstrated cultural responsiveness and ability to communicate with Mi'kmaq/Indigenous students.
  • Understanding or willingness to learn Mi'kmaq ceremonies and circle pedagogy.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, implementation and coordination of the MSW L'nuey program, including scheduling, communications, student supports, and evaluation.
  • Develop outreach and recruitment initiatives with faculty, staff, partners and communications teams.
  • Advise prospective/enrolled students on admissions, academic planning, and resources.
  • Foster a culturally supportive learning environment linking students to Indigenous services and wrap-around supports.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain records; support evaluation and placements.
  • Build relationships with Mi'kmaq communities and external stakeholders while leading program evaluation.
