Job summary

Yellowknife Education District No. 1 invites applications for a part-time Responsive Inclusive Secondary Education Teacher at Ecole Sir John Franklin High School.

The position covers grades 9–12, about 75% FTE for the 2026/2027 school year, mainly teaching RISE with at least one humanities class. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education degree required
• NWT Teacher Certification required
• Ability to implement inclusive strategies and interventions
• Ability to collaborate with staff within the school
• Experience using class profiles to inform practice
• Familiarity with RTI and universal design for learning
• Experience with students with complex needs
• Understanding of backwards design and triangulation of evidence of learning
• Experience in curriculum and cross-curricular planning and delivery
• Humanities teaching experience is an asset

Responsibilities

• Teach primarily in the RISE program with at least one humanities class
• Work collaboratively with other teachers
• Develop and modify programs to meet diverse student goals, strengths and needs
• Apply inclusive practices and interventions
• Utilize class profiles to inform instruction
• Engage with universal design for learning and RTI models
• Support students with complex needs
• Contribute to cross-curricular planning and delivery
