Job summary

Fort McMurray Roman Catholic Separate School Division invites applicants for a 1.0 FTE Full-Time Grade 8 & 9 Knowledge & Employability (K&E) Teacher at Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Fort McMurray for the 2026-2027 year.

You will create a nurturing, faith-informed classroom, deliver Alberta Education curriculum, and collaborate with staff to support student growth and success within a Catholic school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education degree required; inclusive education focus is an asset.
• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for one.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
• Organized, deadline-driven and adaptable for a school schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement remedial programs for students needing extra help.
• Collaborate with professionals to discuss student needs and progress.
• Supervise extracurricular activities when needed.
• Deliver engaging lessons aligned with Alberta Education curriculum and FMCSD philosophy.
• Integrate faith-based teachings into daily lessons and activities.
• Assess progress and communicate with parents/guardians about development.
• Maintain accurate student records and participate in PD opportunities.

The Fort McMurray Roman Catholic Separate School Division is seeking a passionate and dedicated 1.0 FTE Full-Time Grade 8 & 9 Knowledge & Employability (K&E) Teacher to join our vibrant education community starting as soon as possible for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year at Holy Trinity Catholic High School.

As a Junior High K & E Teacher with FMCSD, you will play a foundational role in shaping the minds and hearts of our future leaders. You will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning, all within the framework of our Catholic faith. Key Responsibilities:

• prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help

• Integrate faith-based teachings and values into daily lessons and classroom activities.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons aligned with Alberta Education curriculum and FMCSD's educational philosophy.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning, social-emotional development, and spiritual growth.
• Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student development.
• Integrate faith-based teachings and values into daily lessons and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to ensure student success and a cohesive school environment.
• Maintain accurate student records and adhere to all school and division policies and procedures.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education degree; a specialization or focus in inclusive education is considered an asset
• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for one.
