Job summary

Chinook School Division in Swift Current invites applications for an Educational Assistant at Swift Current Comprehensive High School. This permanent part-time role (0.917 FTE, about 5.5 hours daily) supports students with speech, motor, language development and social skills as part of an integrated student support team.

Successful candidates will have an Educational Assistant certification or early childhood training, a proven ability to work with children, and a collaborative, flexible

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant certification or early childhood training is an asset.
• Ability and experience in working with children.
• Physical ability to work with active students.
• Lifting may be required.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, and an ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Willingness to meet health and hygiene needs of children as required.
• Work one on one with students and within a classroom setting.
• Provide individual students with assistance in speech, motor, and language development and social and life skills as needed.
• Work as part of a team in development and implementation of Individual Improvement Plan.
