Job summary

Chinook School Division #211 invites applications for an Educational Assistant at École Centennial School in Swift Current. This permanent part-time (0.50 FTE) role begins September 1, 2026, supporting a pre-kindergarten to Grade 8 student population in a inclusive classroom.

The successful candidate will work one-on-one and in small groups, assist with language, speech, and daily activities, and collaborate with teachers on Individual Improvement Plans. French language ability is an asset.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant certification or early childhood training is an asset.
• Ability and experience in working with children one-on-one and in a classroom setting.
• Physical ability to work with active students.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship skills; ability to work in a team.
• Positive and flexible attitude to change.
• French language ability is considered an asset.
• Commitment to truth and reconciliation; commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a student's educational program.
• Work as a team member in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.
• Meet health and hygiene needs of children as required.
• Provide individual support in speech, motor, language development and social skills for individual students.
• Collaborate on development and implementation of Individual Improvement Plans.
• May involve lifts and transfers; other duties as assigned.
